Brevidee Terms of Service

About these terms

Brevidee is a video production service for school districts. It helps the people who already make videos for a district — communications staff, teachers, coaches, advisors — plan a video, gather footage, work with an assistant that drafts and organizes, send the work to editing, and publish the finished piece.

These terms are an agreement between Brevidee LLC ("Brevidee", "we", "us") and the school district or organization that has a Brevidee account ("the district", "you"). The district is our customer. The people the district gives accounts to are users of the service, and by signing in they agree to follow these terms as well. If a district has signed a separate written agreement with us, that agreement governs wherever it and these terms disagree.

Who may use Brevidee

Brevidee accounts are for adults on a district's staff, or adults the district has authorized to work on its behalf. Students do not hold Brevidee accounts. A district is responsible for deciding which of its people get an account and for making sure each of them is eligible under this section.

Accounts

An account is created either by invitation from someone at the district who already has one, or by signing up with a school-district email address the district has authorized. An account belongs to one person. Sign-in credentials and one-time codes are not to be shared, and a person should not use anyone else's account.

Your district's own policies still apply to everything done in Brevidee. Nothing here loosens them. If a district's rules about who may be filmed, what may be published, or how records are kept are stricter than these terms, the district's rules govern the district's work.

The district is responsible for what its users do with the service, including keeping account access current when someone changes roles or leaves.

Acceptable use

Use Brevidee for the district's own video work. Do not use it to upload or publish material that is unlawful, that harasses or demeans a person, or that you do not have the right to use. Do not attempt to reach another district's content, interfere with the service, work around access controls, or use the service to build a competing product.

We may suspend an account or remove material that breaks this section. Where the situation allows it, we will tell the district first.

Your content, and who owns it

The district owns its content. Footage, photos, audio, project notes, scripts, and the finished videos made in Brevidee belong to the district, not to us. We do not claim ownership of any of it, and we do not sell it.

To run the service we need permission to handle that content: to store it, process it, transcode and analyze it, assemble it into a video, host it for playback, and deliver it wherever the district chooses to publish it. By uploading content, the district grants us the limited license needed to do those things, and nothing more. That license lasts as long as we hold the content in order to provide the service.

Permissions and releases are the district's responsibility. Before uploading material in which a person appears or is heard — a student, a staff member, a family member, a visitor — the district is responsible for having whatever consent, release, or authorization its own policies and applicable law require, and for honoring any opt-out a family has on file. We have no way to know what a district's records say, so we rely on the district to make that judgment before the material is uploaded.

Brevidee is not the district's system of record. Districts should keep their own copies of anything they need to retain.

The AI assistant

Brevidee includes an assistant that helps plan a video, suggest an approach, draft text, and organize the work. Its suggestions are drafts, not decisions. A person on the district's staff reviews them, and the assistant does not publish anything, send anything outside the district, or make a final editorial choice on its own. Every video that goes out has a person's approval behind it.

Like any assistant of this kind, it can be wrong, and its suggestions should be read with that in mind. The district remains responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of anything it publishes.

Service providers

We use trusted service providers, such as media processing and hosting vendors, to run parts of the service. They handle content only to perform work on our behalf, under obligations to protect it. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties, except as required by law. How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy at brevidee.com/privacy, which is part of these terms.

Ending an account

A person may delete their own account at any time from Settings in the Brevidee app, or by writing to support@brevidee.com from their account email address. See brevidee.com/account-deletion for the current routes.

Deleting an account removes that person's account and personal details. It does not remove the district's work. Projects, uploaded footage, and published videos are the district's property and stay with the district — that is deliberate, so that one person leaving does not take a school's videos with them. Some information may be retained for a limited time where required for legal, security, or operational reasons, after which it is permanently deleted.

A district may end its use of the service by writing to support@brevidee.com. We may end or suspend a district's access for non-payment, for a breach of these terms, or if we stop offering the service. If access ends, we will give the district a reasonable opportunity to retrieve its content before it is removed.

Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep Brevidee available and working well, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance happens, networks fail, and third-party providers have outages of their own. We may add, change, or discontinue features over time. If we make a change that materially reduces a core part of the service a district relies on, we will give the district notice.

Disclaimers

Brevidee is provided as it is. Apart from anything we have promised a district in a signed agreement, we do not make warranties about the service — including any implied warranty that it is fit for a particular purpose, that it will be error-free, or that it will meet a district's specific requirements. We do not warrant that the assistant's suggestions are accurate or suitable for publication.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Brevidee is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for lost data, lost revenue, or lost goodwill, arising out of the use of the service. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to a district for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amount that district paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts located in New York, NY have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page, and for a material change we will give districts notice by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means the district accepts the updated terms.
